Andy started at MSU on June 1st, 2025, after almost 18 years at the University of Oklahoma as a Professor of Geosciences, including serving as Director of the Samuel Roberts Noble Microscopy Laboratory from 2019-2025. Andy's main hands-on microscopy experiences are with SEM, TEM, and polarized light microscopy. He is passionate about the benefit of core facilities and wants to support all students, staff, faculty, and industry researchers to solve problems with advanced microscopy.
Away from the lab, Andy enjoys spending time with family (including cats), playing and listening to music, rock climbing (mostly indoor!) and kayaking.
